Delightful glamping style with an ancient millstream mentioned in the Domesday Book.
The Shepherd’s Hut is for sleeping and Tipi for eating beside the babbling brook. Lie in bed, gaze across the fields to the west and listen to birds and see the stars in the black night skies.
All linen, towels, cooking pots and utensils are included. Inside the cosy Shepherd’s Hut are wood-burning stove for heating and boiling a kettle; a 5′ wide x 6′ long double-bed; candle box with fire-lighters, matches and tea-lights; local information, books and games.
Outside there’s a covered “field kitchen” with charcoal bbq & prep area, electric fridge & powerpoint for mobile phone charging. The open fire-pit has a tripod cooking pot. The covered outdoor shower area has mini Belfast sink for washing up. The “beneath-the-stars” wood-fired hot-tub-bath is blissful with a glass of wine and candles all around. There is a cast iron table with chairs.
The private, compost privy (WC) includes loo paper. In the Tipi are a table and chairs for eating & a trunk-ful of kitchen stuff. The site’s enclosed by a post and rail fence and there are sheep and horses for neighbours. Access to the site is across the paddock over which a car can be driven and your hosts’ old farmhouse is up the lane for if you need any extras.
Do ask for some of Henry’s prized kitchen garden’s herbs and greens for adding to your cooking pot. Diy Breakfast & Supper Hampers can be ordered for you to cook in-camp. Carolyn and Henry are serious about local, seasonal food.
Walk along the riverbank to local village for fish and chips in the pub. The area’s famous for its food, architecture, gardens, historic houses, churches and castles. There are fantastic footpaths, bridleways, quiet country lanes in every direction: perfect for walking, cycling and riding.
Luscious Ludlow’s just 10 miles away, the Welsh border just a couple of miles. Whatever you decide to do, Henry and Carolyn will put you on the right track. Explore, excite and exclaim!
